About me

I began my career in London working in Knightsbridge at a specialist electrolysis clinic after completing a two year full time International Beauty Therapy course in Kent.

I moved to Cornwall in 1984 initially offering a mobile beauty service which eventually led to opening my specialist Electrolysis and Health & Beauty Clinic in Launceston Cornwall for Men and Women.

Today treatments are available at my licensed clinic in St John’s Road, Launceston, which is spacious, private, quiet and stress free with off road parking and no stairs, by appointment only.

Alongside being a Beauty Therapist, I have specialised in electrolysis for hair removal throughout my career, and developed my skills further to include advanced cosmetic procedures. These treatments include lesions such as age spots, thread veins, warts, verrucae, milia, skin tags, seborrhoeic keratosis, dermatosa papulosa nigra, xanthelasma (fatty yellowish lumps around eyes), sebaceous cysts, spider naevus, campbell de morgan (blood spots), hair-in-mole removal and the reduction of moles.

Electrolysis can treat hair virtually anywhere on the body - and of any colour, including white.

Specialising in electrolysis has meant I can offer treatments to the whole community including transgender and polycystic regardless of how little or extensive treatment is required.

Including electrolysis, the beauty treatments I offer are waxing, manicures, pedicures, facials, lash and brow tinting, eyebrow shaping & back, neck and shoulder massage.

Waxing is a specialist area of mine, with experience accrued over many years and treating a diverse range of people and hair problems, let alone different skin types and pain thresholds. All areas benefit from gentle and well executed waxing, especially intimate waxing for women, providing you with a hygienic, efficient, quick and professional treatment. I use organic honey wax which is warm and 100% effective on all hair types and areas.

All treatments are available to females, transgender and males, with the exception that I don't carry out intimate waxing for men. However back, chest, abdomen, arms, underarms, legs and eyebrow waxing and back, neck and shoulder massage are available to men including electrolysis, advanced procedures, facials, tinting, manicures and pedicures.

Wherever possible I use organic, chemical and cruelty free products and always advocate the natural & environmentally aware approach.

I advise on skin care, health care and fitness and with having actively worked in the beauty industry for so long, I have a wealth of hands on knowledge accumulated from my work with women, men, transgender, the young and the elderly. I also have a lot of experience carrying out treatments for people with some disabilities and am happy to discuss particular needs and will do my best to accommodate everyone.

I stock the wonderful local skincare range; Bskincare made near Bodmin . This is a family run Cornish business and their products, as well as the labelling and the ink used and packaging when ordered online, are environmentally friendly, completely free of chemicals, not tested on animals and contain their own home produced honey as well as essential oils.

These products are often seen in National Trust shops and local craft markets and are suitable for men and women, inexpensive and really kind to your skin, with wonderful scents. Led by ethical standards, I have found that the products are the perfect compliment to my treatments and my ethos and I am proud to have them in my clinic and to help my clients choose the right products for their needs.

I also stock Aloe Vera gel, Witch Hazel gel and Calamine cream by Sterex, supporting my after care programme for electrolysis and advanced cosmetic procedures.

In addition I stock facial cleansing brushes, Riffi Mitts for body scrubbing & foot files.

I pride myself on providing a caring and professional service; discretion and client confidentiality is paramount, whilst remaining current, friendly, cheerful and approachable.

I observe health and safety guidelines and follow hygiene and sterilisation rules as certified by professional standards and Cornwall County Council.

I can assure you of a warm empathy and an expertise gained from actively working in the Beauty Industry for many years, underpinned by my own high standards & ethics as well as ongoing continual professional development.

Few Therapists can compete with my attention to detail, efficient and friendly professionalism and natural flair.
